​HIS CADET STORY:

James Costello, the Founder and Director of the famed Hawthorne Caballeros, was both a percussion instructor and a marching instructor from 1948 through 1968.  The Cadets strong marching and percussion style, and pursuit of excellence was evident during Jim’s tenure. 

 

Jim was an instructor for both The Cadets during several American Legion National Championship years for The Cadets (1950, 53, 57, 60, 61,62 and 1964), and even taught the Cadet Plebe Percussion Section for a few years.  A well-respected instructor who led by example and taught all Cadets the meaning of the word “class”.
