DR. JOSEPH CINZIO
Class of 2008
BOOSTER MEMBER / BUSINESS MANAGER / CORPS DIRECTOR
Cadet Years: Booster Association President (1966-1967)
Business Manager (1967-1976)
Corps Director (1977-1978)
HIS CADET STORY:
Dr. Cinzio has been involved with the Corps, as a fan, from the early 1950’s, and as an Administrator from 1966-1978. He has continued to maintain contact with the corps both as a financial supporter and a fanatical “HOLY NAME” fan since his retirement in 1978. As a point of interest, Dr. Cinzio was a full-time Director for the Corps for two years, while maintaining a professional office practice, during a time when Corps Administrators were not paid for their services.
It was not uncommon during his tenure with the corps, and after his retirement from administrative responsibilities, for the corps administration to load a van of injured Cadets and take them to, “Doc Cinzio’s Office” for podiatric care. Many times, he would take care of Cadet members without regard for compensation, simply because he loved the corps. In addition, he was also the Podiatrist for many DCI administrators, adjudicators, corps directors, their staff and membership.
He had three children, Greg (67-77DM), Ken (72-80) and Karen (77-83) that all marched in the corps, together with their spouses: Lynn Eikenberg (75-77), Keren Gordon (76-80) and Warren Corman (77-84).
To say that he bleeds maroon would be an understatement. He is a Cadet first, and foremost, and a drum corps enthusiast secondarily. His heart was, and is, always with the Corps.
