HIS CADET STORY:

Dennis S. Dewey began his music career in the Midwest performing in Drum Corps and playing guitar in a rock band.  In late 1969 he moved to the east coast and became a baritone soloist and section leader with the Garfield Cadets.

 

Dennis was mentored by the inspirational Frank Dorritie and the drum corps visionary Donald Angelica.  He later became an instructor and arranger for The Cadets and taught many other corps including the 1979-80 Long Island Kingsmen.

 

In 1977 Dennis began arranging music and writing drills for the Brentwood High School Green Machine Marching Band.  He was a director in the Brentwood Band Program from 1977- 2010, brass caption head in 1980 for the Long Island Sunrisers.  He has conducted numerous concert Bands and Jazz ensembles in the northeast and taught marching band technique at C.W. Post while writing many drills and music arrangements for various ensembles.
