HER CADET STORY:
Cindi joined the Cadets in the winter of 1968 as one of the “original girls” coming to us from the Little Falls Cadets. This was during a time when the Corps was all-boys, so going co-ed was a big deal at the time. She was part of the coed transition into the Corps, and within a few short months, the girls were not only accepted by the all-boy membership but embraced and celebrated. Cindi led by example. Nothing was given to the girls at the time, but rather, they earned the respect and admiration of the boys, administration, staff and fans.
Cindi’s help for the Corps was not only as a leader while a marching member, but as a volunteer and alumni leader over the years as well. Cindi has volunteered for the Corps from 1982-present, at times even working in the corps offices (Bergenfield and Allentown). Some of her volunteer activities include: working at Cadet-sponsored competitions, selling 50/50’s, competition programs, event volunteering, camp volunteering, setting up alumni meetings, 50th Anniversary planning, 75th Anniversary planning, HOF event liaison for the original girls, co-chaired caps for Cadets, the Dave Shaw event in 2018, the 85th Anniversary Celebration, wine Tasting Committee and has been an alumni representative of the North Jersey Chapter for many years.
She has been an alumni leader for many years, either co-chairing or simply volunteering to help run alumni events, and has been a member of the Cadets Arts and Entertainment Board of Directors and past Secretary of the board, and the co-chair of the Alumni Experience Committee
